Biometric clocking devices and GDPR

The new privacy legislation has led to a different view on the use of clock terminals with biometric options (fingerprint-, retina- or hand palm scanners). The use of an employee's biometric data for purposes other than authentication and security monitoring is no longer permitted. This means that an employer must be able to offer an alternative in case for example the fingerprint is only used for the registration or work time. 

The biometric clock terminals offered by Manus Software Europe also have the possibility to clock with tags and/or a pin code.
